Blast from the Past

I've been sorting through old pictures, and I've been loving it.  The saying "a picture's worth a thousand words" is pretty spot on.  Pictures tell stories, that no words can tell.  I thought I would share some of my favorite pictures through the years...

2008

When I was 14, we hiked a 14,000 ft. mountain on the first day of Girl's camp.  My mom, and my sister were there too. It was probably the most physically challenging thing I had done up to that point in my life, but the view at the top was so rewarding, it is something I have done again, and hope to do more throughout my life.

2009

In the Summer of 2009, My sister and I traveled together to visit our childhood friends, and our grandparents, both of which were in Las Vegas.  I think this was one of those times where I really started to bond with my sister, instead of fight, it was a marvelous experience to be "big girls" together and travel alone.

In the middle is Tia, to the right is Rachael.  Tia, Rachel and I were the best of friends, and in the beginning of  2009, Rachael moved to Washington, so Fall Break 2009, Tia and I decided to visit Rachael and her family in Washington.  We had such a blast, it is a trip I will never forget!

2010

In 2010, Tia and I decided we wanted to ride in a train!  So, we took the train to Utah to visit her sister.  The train ride was 14 hours, and was pouring rain when we got off (hence the wet hair and sad faces in this picture).  Needless to say, we flew home when our trip was over.

This is my cute little brother Ben!  I found this picture among my collection, I'm not exactly sure how old he is here, but I just couldn't resist, he is so adorable! He is 10 years younger than me (almost exactly) and we have always had a special connection.

2011

In 2011 I graduated high school! It was a momentous occasion, and I was so happy to have my entire family in attendance.  Out of everything I miss about home, I miss them the most.

In 2011 I also left for college.  My family and I would Skype when we could, this is a screenshot of one of our conversations.  My siblings are a little crazy...but that's why I love them!

2012

In 2012 I met this wonderful guy who changed my life forever!  Soon after we started dating, I just knew he was the one I wanted to marry.

2013

This year, John and I were married in the Denver, Colorado Temple.  There we made sacred covenants with each other, and became sealed together forever.  I truly believe that families are forever, and that love continues beyond the grave.  We have been married for almost 6 months (in 6 days!) We've had our ups and downs, like anyone, but I would not trade it for anything!

I wish I could share more, but that would make this post way too long.  I love looking through my old pictures, It helps give me perspective sometimes.  Maybe you should go take a look at some of the pictures of when you were younger. Or, if you don't have any, start taking some ;)

So...We Got Married! 5 months ago...

It's true, I'm jumping on the blogger bandwagon and starting a blog! Why? Well, a few reasons.  First, I think it's going to be a great record of our new life together. Second, it is a nice way to share with friends and family how we are doing, and what we are up to.  Third, I think it's going to be a nice stress reliever for me, and something fun that I will enjoy! So, here it goes :)

The Princess Bride...It's a classic. If you haven't seen it, you'd better go find it and pop it in your DVD player, and you'll thank me later.  Well, my "Westley" came! I'm married now to the love of my life, John.  As of today we have been married a little over five months.  It has been a marvelous time!

August and September have brought a lot of (good) change into our lives.  We moved apartments, both started school at new schools, started attending a new ward, and I stopped working at the MTC, because I transferred schools and could no longer have a job there (only BYU students can work in the cafeteria).

Why did I transfer? Well, In September I started Dental Hygiene School at the Utah College of Dental Hygiene.  Below is a picture of my class.  There are 60 of us!  It's really fun, and really challenging.  I go to school Monday-Thursday for 9 hours!!  Not to mention, hours of homework every night.  But, come April 2015 I will be a Dental Hygienist. The end is in sight!

October and November have been filled with a LOT of school work for me! As for John, he's been taking some online classes through BYU Idaho, as well as looking for a second job, hopefully he finds one soon.  We are getting excited for Thanksgiving, and visiting my family in Colorado.  It will be a much needed break, and I can't wait to dig into all that food!

Happy Thanksgiving!
